So like everyone else, I’m pretty sick and tired of all the constant negative talk about the real estate industry that the media seems to spew on us on almost a daily basis. It really gets to me when they make huge sweeping generalizations about the real estate market across the nation. So with the help of some of my close real estate friends, I thought I would provide a glimpse into some local markets to see how the “feet [...]
It has been a rough couple of years in the real estate industry but there are plenty of brokerages that are still kicking and doing business. Now the landscape has definitely changed but brokerages that are not only surviving but thriving in this less than stellar real estate environment have one thing in common…they get it.
Take River City Real Estate for example. A three-office brokerage on the outskirts of Saint Louis would probably not be the type of brokerage you [...]
Everyone knows that the Internet has expanded our reach, our knowledge and our possibilities. But is it ALL good? I’ll be the first to admit that it can be sometimes daunting to keep up with it all. I remember watching Shift Happens for the first time and being amazed by the exponential growth of unique new material that is being generated in today’s world.
So obviously we cannot keep up with everything that is being generated so what is starting [...]
So I was contemplating last night as I was adding Plurk to my repertoire of social media sites…Is this all worth it? Does it really pay off? Are the fruits of my labor going to reward me in the end? My answers to all are I really think so.
I’ve been actively involved in the social media/blogging/web 2.0 scene for about two months now. When I say active, I mean active. Yea I had my Facebook account and I [...]
Back in mid-July, I attended SocialMediaCamp here is San Francisco and saw a killer application called Qik. It was demoed by Silicon Valley whiz kid Daniel Brusilovsky, the 15-year old podcaster, blogger, entrepreneur, and soon to be author. Basically, Qik allows you to stream live video from your cell phone.
After finding out my Samsung Blackjack was one of the “chosen” phones that could execute the application currently, I was all over downloading the app [...]
We know how important social networking is becoming in our daily lives. Drew Izzo, CMO of Roost.com, and I attended SocialMediaCamp this last Tuesday and learned how social networking sites are being integrating into businesses everywhere. From Twitter to LinkedIn to Facebook, the world is becoming connected.
So I got a tweet this morning from Peter Cashmore at Mashable.com linking me to a post on their site titled “
Earlier this week I had the distinct pleasure of chatting with Poppy Dinsey of London-based Zoomf (Yee Haw for Skype). Don’t let the name fool you, this is one incredibly bright and articulate Real Estate/Web 2.0 Geek with a passion that would rival most in the industry.
So how the heck did I meet some random woman that works for a real estate search site [...]
OK, maybe not every one of them. Maybe not even most. But I have to say I’m getting a bit tired of reading how Real Estate Brokers and Agents are in the Stone Age when it comes to understanding technology.Â
Â
I probably shouldn’t admit this, but what the heck…I’m the CEO of a technology start-up…I live in SF, the heart of Technology OZ…and I work 3 blocks from where Steve Jobs announced the new iPhone [...]
